Breeding Philosophy

Last days together_3.jpg

What stands me apart from many other breeders is that I select my dogs based on their temperament and health foremost. I select dogs for breeding based on the ‘total dog’ concept, which includes their genetic compatibility, type of their temperament, working ability, health and physical structure. All my dogs are not ever bred before they have a full panel of health tests and earned at least one performance or working title. Why? Because I believe that a good dog has to be healthy and able to work/perform under pressure of competition and be able to succeed. Many people could say "my dog has a great temperament", but never really know for sure because their dogs never have to do anything besides  staying home, or their kennel in a familiar environment. Many of such dogs will "fall apart" under pressure of competition, or simply being in a new place full of crowds of people and unfamiliar dogs. Performance titles, scores, placements and ribbons do matter because they showcase the dog's ability to perform under stress, their trainability, love for work and biddable nature. Health tests results do matter as they are the best way to ensure health of the next generation.

Every litter is carefully planned based on the parents' bloodlines, abilities, health tests and structure. Puppies and raised in a regular home environment. We spend hundreds of hours caring for, socializing and developing puppies with exposure to many new experiences. Each puppy begins Early Neurological Stimulation program as soon as it is born. Their training begins as soon as they could see and hear. Various challenges are introduced from their birth and increased in complexity as pups mature. Games are designed to lay a foundation in basic obedience, tracking, agility and general problem solving. As puppies continue growing and become more coordinated games become more complex stimulating problem-solving behavior.

Along with their mind and physical development our puppies go through a basic potty training, introduced to the crate and walking on a leash. They are exposed to a wide variety of different surfaces, environments, dogs and people, including children. By the time they leave our house to go to their new families our puppies are ready to take the world. They are prepared to become excellent performers and well-behaved companions. By 7 weeks they are well started in the housebreaking, started walking on leash, have been introduced to basic obedience commands, crate and traveling in the car. We strive to provide to our puppies the best possible conditioning, social and mental development that should make their further training an easy and enjoyable task.

Each puppy is vet checked, dewormed and vaccinated. We offer THREE years written health guarantees and support and advise for the life of our pups. We take lifetime responsibility for all the puppies we produce, therefore our contract requires the return of any puppy or dog that a new owner can no longer keep, for whatever reason.  No refunds (except for things covered on the guarantee of course). They may not be sold or given away without our permission. They may not be dropped off at a humane society, or animal shelter ~ those are for unwanted animals.

All our puppies’ temperament tested at around 7-8 weeks old using Volhard’s Puppy Aptitude Testing system. Our ultimate goal is to match each puppy with the right family. We believe that the puppy must fit into the environment where it is being placed to ensure development of that perfect relationship between an owner and a dog. We do not choose a pup for you, but we do make our recommendations and reserve the right to deny the choice if we feel that it is not a right puppy for the environment. Puppies are released to their new homes after they turn 8 weeks old. We reserve rights for a first pick puppy we might want to keep.

The adoption fee for one of our pups reflects the high standards that we use in breeding and raising our puppies, and quality of our dogs. Expect to invest in your pup between $2,800 to 3,500.
